It’s our 32nd Anniversary. And we decided to celebrate with a big FIRST in New Orleans. I’d never been. It’s been over 20 years since Phil set foot in NOLA.
Now I believe you don’t have to spend a dime or travel anywhere to do wonderful FIRST time adventures.
But (okay, this sounds a little nuts) I love smelling new air sometimes. And as soon as I got off the plane in NO I knew I loved it…immediately the smell of water…the sea and then the most delicious aromas hit you. We indulged in the fried dough of beignets of every sort.
Po Boys and creole creations…heavenly!
Music wafted out of all doors on Bourbon street.
We floated on sugar and song and good company, friends who joined us.
We soaked in the unique quirky character of the French Quarter. Where else can you find a real estate sign that boasts HAUNTED!?
A card reader said “Of course you like New Orleans. You are a passionate scorpio. So is New Orleans…born in November”.
HAHA. Well, of course. That explains everything.
It was a perfect anniversary FIRST.
I leave you with a little NOLA street music and the hope you get to smell “new air” this spring or summer…travel to one new destination where you have no idea what’s around the corner and you can completely dive into days of FIRSTS.
I made a first trip to New Orleans in January and I totally agree with you. It is a special city! It sounds like you have a spectacular anniversary trip. Congratulations!!
